Rolling pin guides are useful tools for rolling out all kinds of dough to an uniform height: shortcrust pastry for cookies and tarts, pizza dough, marzipan, fondant, sugar paste, fresh pasta, and puff pastry.
Uniform height is crucial if you want to achieve optimal results in baking shortcrust pastry cookies or tarts, or in any case where even baking is necessary. Without rolling pin guides, you risk rolling out the dough too thin, too thick, or unevenly, compromising the baking of your cookies or tart crust.
To adjust the height precisely and uniformly, place the two guides of the desired height to the right and left of the dough and start rolling with the rolling pin. When the rolling pin touches the wooden sticks, it means the dough is at the desired height.
The set contains 3 pairs of rolling pin guides:
- 2 guides, 3 mm thick, ideal for cookies with traditional cutters;
- 2 guides, 5 mm thick, perfect for cookies with insert cutters and for using decorative rolling pins;
- 2 guides, 10 mm thick, designed for tart bases or for small pizzas and focaccias.
You can overlap the wooden sticks with different heights to obtain multiple measurements (e.g., overlap the 3mm and 5mm guides to obtain a height of 8mm).
The guides are made of untreated, hard and durable beechwood ensuring longevity.
After use, remove any dough residue using a damp cloth. Do not immerse them in water and dry them before storing.
