This pattern tart grid is a pastry cutter that makes it easy to create perfect decorations for tarts and pastiera napoletana. Say goodbye to irregular shapes and imprecise stripes and quickly achieve a flawless decoration in just a few steps. Watch our video tutorial at the bottom of this page to learn how to use it.
How to use it:
1. Preparing the dough: Roll out the shortcrust pastry with a rolling pin to a thickness of 3mm or 5mm. Use wooden sticks to ensure an even height.
2. Place on the grid: roll the shortcrust pastry on the rolling pin and gently place it on the grid.
3. Creating the design: Roll the rolling pin over the grid to imprint the design, then remove the excess dough.
4. Cooling: lift the top of the grid and place it in the freezer for at least 5 minutes.
5. Application on the tart: remove the pastry disc from the grid and place it on the tart. If necessary, trim the edges by cutting off the excess pastry.
Extra tip: create border decorations with the shortcrust pastry cut-outs to personalise and make your tart even more special. You can use biscuit cutters to add themed details depending on the season or a particular occasion.
